So you want to become a nurse?
Congratulations, first off, on making the decision to start a career that will change not only your life but others for the better. Nursing is a field of dedication, selfless actions and compassion to others. I was immediately drawn to this profession because I love helping people. I always get that warm and fuzzy feeling on the inside when I know I did my best to help someone. Believe it or not nursing is the #2 most respected and trusted profession in the world, after firefighters post 9/11. Not only are you about to enter a rewarding field but also one that is well liked in the public eye. Now don't expect to waltz through nursing school and straight into an easy line of work. Nursing is one of the harder professions, schooling wise, and its hours and tasks are demanding. But don't let this discourage you. Ahead of you lies a life full of excitement and adventure and making the decision to become a nurse is one that you will thank yourself for. Through this blog I will offer tips, suggestions and how I went about choosing my school, applying and going through freshman year. If there is a topic you would like to be covered more in depth or want a burning question answered, feel free to contact me and I'll post a blog for you about that.
